I guess the way to answer that would be: when I was 16 I bought myself a piece of property and my friends were buying cars. I’ve always been quite entrepreneurial so um, I recognized Real Estate as a good endeavour to be involved in so I kind of “explored it” and was interested in it. I taught High School at Point Grey (Vancouver) Secondary School in Vancouver West Side. My degree was in Industrial Education and I ended up teaching Industrial Education subjects but mostly Architectural Mechanical Drafting. So; you know, design and that kind of thing. I also taught some Mathematics in High School. Actually I enjoyed the whole thing, I really enjoyed students, I wasn’t that much older than them, some of my students were as old as 18 I think I was 23 when I started. So wasn’t that much of a difference in age. (laughs). But you know, I actually really enjoyed it, and what happened was after I had been teaching, mmm, seven or eight years I started getting involved in some Real Estate endeavours and got busier and busier, so it got to the point I couldn’t do a proper job of both so, in 1979 I quit teaching and went into Real Estate full time.
